What’s cool with the new version of My Brute is that it’s more secure. You can recover your password if you forget it, you can organize all your Brutes in one account (This is what we’ve been planning a long time ago in MBC, but we’ve never implemented it because we’re lazy in creating new tools), you can play other games created by Motion Twin, and best of all, you can level up as fast as you can if you spend money!

That’s right guys! The new version of My Brute has an option to cheat

Many new features are also being added in the new version of My Brute. But before we'll show you the features, we'll point out first the disadvantages of the new My Brute.

1. You cannot create a new Brute with custom colors, hair styles, and costumes. All you can do is recruit a random type of Brute and name it.
2. Custom sub-domains are not available in the new My Brute. If you create a Brute with your name, it will appear under your Muxxu.com account. The permalink will just show your brute ID number, not your Brute name.
3. Only 8 choices of random Brutes are shown everyday. If you can't find the Brute that you love today, you need to come back tomorrow. Less choices, sadder experience.

Those are the only disadvantages in the new version of My Brute that we've noticed. If you know more, please do share it with us by leaving a comment below.

To answer the question in our post title, here are the new features of the brand new My Brute!

1. You can recruit Brutes. Choose up to 8 different type of Brutes daily. You can customize your Brute, all you need to do is choose, as shown in the first image above.

2. A brand new UI (user interface) is now implemented. New skills are also available.

4. Here’s a great new feature in the new version of My Brute. After you level up, the stats, skills, and weapons are not random anymore. You can choose what the upgrade. Two options will appear, Skill/Weapon or Stat Upgrade. The Skill and Weapon are still random, but you get to choose if you want to upgrade your Skills or Weapons only, or your Brute Statistics only. This is really a great new feature in the new My Brute.

5. Notice the heart icon at the upper right of the image below. You can now save your favorite Brute bouts and view it in your favorite fights page.

6. Here’s how Motion Twin makes money and a brand new feature that money wasters will really love, the Hospital! You have an option to visit the Hospital for 15 tokens. If your Brute has died 3 times today, you can still train, but you need to visit the Hospital first in order to continue training. You need to go to Muxxu.com/bank and buy tokens.

Tokens are really cheap. You can buy 300 tokens for only 5 euros (around $7.00 USD). There are 3 options: 300, 1000, and 3500. Buy buying more tokens, you can save more! It’s relatively expensive if you don’t have money, but it’s cheap if you have you are filthy rich. By buying 300 tokens and spending it all in one day, you can visit the Hospital 20 times in just one day! Isn’t it awesome?

7. Lastly, the tournament system. The new version of My Brute has a better tournament system compared before. You can now see the actual tournament bracket. The tournament is live and will not start if the players are not complete. During the time we tested it, only 2 brutes are needed before the tournament starts. You can easily see your Brute in the tournament bracket because it will blink every other second.

My Brute is an MMO which puts you in charge of a dojo. You can create three different brutes to train within your dojo, each brute a highly customizable creation. Of course, you can only control physical characteristics, but the choices for those are numerous, making the creation of a unique character an easy task. After naming your brute, you can send him or her blindly forth into battle.

Battles are watched, involving no active participation. Your brute faces off with another belonging to a different player, but unless you have a specific player to challenge, all you have is a random list of three opponents who are close in level. Each battle gives experience, which in turn levels your brute and gives a few random bonuses to help them in its future battles. Brutes don’t have unlimited energy, though, and eventually they cannot fight until a day passes, and therein lies the limit to the gameplay.

As an MMO, however, the game is both based on battles with other players and cooperation with them. You can belong to other dojos, and you can also invite friends to join your dojo. My Brute does well with the available social connections, too, allowing Facebook Connect and OpenFeint chat rooms. You can connect to people and get codes to join other dojos in the chats, or you can just enjoy the enthralling conversations and frequent censoring by the admin.

Nothing says “tough guy” like a blue pony tail.

One of the things that My Brute definitely lacks is deeper interaction with your brutes or your dojo. There isn’t really a representation of the world or any dojos that you can click through, which isn’t a difficult thing to create in an online flash game. At the moment, it feels restricted in what you can do and where you can go.

My Brute is a good game whose stylized graphics and extensive community put it a step above its competition. The number of unlockable features and bonuses for each brute is well done, especially through its innovative master-pupil system. Yet it still leaves us wanting for a bit more to see and do in this mysterious world than just fight a few times a day.

As most of you know by now, the official English website of My Brute, www.mybrute.com has been down for quite some time now. To give you a rough estimate, it has been offline for almost 48 hours as of writing this post.

Well, it’s not really down but it has been under technical maintenance longer than usual – very much longer than usual.

And many players are now asking, when will My Brute go up again? What happened to My Brute? Why has it been down for so long?

Many are speculating that there has been a “brutal crash” of servers and since it’s the weekend, nobody is around to really fix it.

Whip
One of the best weapons in the game. Often gives multiple attacks. Damage range: 10-15

Halberd
High damage long range weapon. But this can easily be evaded by the opponent. Damage range: 25-40

Trident
Uncommon weapon with average performance. Damage range: 12-18

Spear
Medium damage weapon that usually stops an incoming attack with a surprise counter blow. Damage range: 12-18

Making multiple hits with these heavy weapons is also almost impossible but it does happen if you have the stats and the skills. These heavy weapons are also used in melee, so you really have to come close to your opponent to hit them.

Well, to help all the new My Brute players out there, here’s the answer to this FAQ plus some more information about daily maintenance and tournament registration times. Yes, it’s all about My Brute Times today.

We’ll base our time in France since it’s really where the original game began. And the first thing you need to know is that France is at GMT+1.

Okay, remember that these times are at GMT+1.

Approximate time that the daily fight limit resets: 1:00 AM
Usual time period that the site undergoes maintenance: 4:00 AM – 7:00 AM
Tournament registration time begins right after maintenance and ends around: 10:00 AM

Again, these times are at GMT+1. If you want to know what time it is in your country, then you need to know what time zone you are in and adjust the difference.

For example, people in New York are at GMT-4, which is a time zone that is behind 5 hours from GMT+1. Thus, in New York, the daily fight limit resets at around 8:00 PM.

Another example, people in Manila are at GMT+8, which is a time zone that is ahead 7 hours from GMT+1. Thus, in Manila, the daily fight limits resets at around 8:00 AM.

Last example, people in India are at GMT+5.5, which is a time zone that is ahead 4 hours and 30 minutes from GMT+1. Thus, people in Mumbai will have their daily fight limit reset at around 5:30 AM.

More time tips:

• Try to avoid playing when the daily time limit resets because a lot are online that time and My Brute will be laggy.
• Try to avoid playing right after maintenance because again, a lot of people are usually playing during this time.
• Always try to register for the tournament everyday. You might get lucky and finish high. Besides, it’s free to join anyway.

However, one of the best ways to improve our game is to experiment and learn what strategies work and what actually do not. And so, the admin of this site, along with a few of our friends, tried to learn how effective it is to do get pupils through spamming.

Well, you actually guessed the results. It’s NOT effective. Here’s the testing we conducted and the results:

Participants: 8 brutes
Places to spam: My Brute Cheats comments and several My Brute forums.
Duration of experiment: 7 days

Pupil Spamming Procedure:
Using the most common statements used in asking for pupils (i.e., make your pupil with this name, etc.), each of the eight brutes left 1 comment in every post here. Furthermore, each of them also left a “pupil me” reply in the top 5 threads in several My Brute forums every day.

Results:
After one week, our experimental 8 brutes got an average of only 3 pupils. The most number of pupils received was 9.

Conclusion:
Pupil spamming is not a very effective way to get pupils. One week worth of effort only resulted to “at most” 9 pupils. Something that you could have done yourself by just changing your IP address in less than one day. Pupil spamming is a waste of time.

Other noteworthy observations:

• Making a pupil on someone who promises to pupil you back is a waste of time because you are NOT guaranteed that he/she will really pupil you back.
• With the great number of pupil spamming that occurs, most people just skip the comment or reply.

One last important announcement:
Beginning today, we shall slowly be deleting all comments that asks for pupils. This will encourage a more creative and informative discussion in this website.

Moreover, any new comments that does so will automatically be deleted, as well as those who puts a link of their brute in their comment.

We encourage everyone to put the address of your brute as your website in the comment form. Then leave a sensible and meaningful comment.

Lastly, since we are becoming more strict with comment moderation, we are asking your forgiveness in advance if your comment will take some time before it appears. Thank you.
